Batik is a toolkit for Apache to allows SVG manipulation. The vision of the project is to give to developers a set of core modules which can be used together or individually to support specific SVG solutions. Using these tools, it is possible to render SVG graphic starting from a GIS and then, using the same tool is possible to export “on the fly” the same data into an image format like ‘jpeg’ or ‘png’.
